The South Henry family of educators had a wonderful day of professional learning today. Our staff took part in sessions focused on: -Employability standards -Universal Design for Learning -Ivy Tech Partnerships -Digital programs -Classroom management -Working cooperatively with Instructional Assistants -Understanding the Juvenile Probation system -Digital Citizenship We are thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow together. Congratulations to our January Titans of the month! Students received their certificates on February 1st. The students were nominated by their classroom teacher for being respectful, responsible, and ready to learn. Go Titans!

❄️Here is a reminder about our recess guidelines based on a school handbook. Recess Weather Guidelines Students are expected to wear appropriate attire (e.g., hats, gloves, warm coats) so that they can enjoy the outdoors during recess, even in cold weather months. Recess is held inside if snow, ice, wind chill, rain or actual temperatures make it unsafe to be outdoors. Generally, we go outside if the temperatures are at or above 30 degrees Fahrenheit and/or the windchill is 30 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Let’s make sure to keep our Titans bundled up! #WeAreTriTitans

Every year seniors in the the top 10% of the class are asked to write an essay about a teacher that has impacted their lives and their academic success. The top 3 essays are chosen and those students and their teacher of topic are selected as ISTAR recipients. They are recognized at an awards ceremony in March by school administration along with other schools in the area. Tri Senior Stella Houchins, who is also the Henry County Lilly Scholarship winner, was chosen and had written about Mrs. Lisa Hansen and the impact she had on Stella. Stella along with counselor Joyce Bangel came down to inform Mrs. Hansen and present her with a copy of the essay. Congratulations to Stella on her academic success and thank you to Mrs. Hansen, 1st grade teacher, for helping her on her journey. #WeAreTriTitans

Due to the threat of inclement weather, the South Henry School Corporation will be closed to in-person classes on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Students should plan to participate in eLearning as directed by your child’s school and teacher. Go Titans!

With the forecast of severe weather this week, a review of our delay and closure procedures may be helpful. As always, please keep your phone close Wednesday morning and encourage your children to bring home their devices Tuesday evening so that they can participate in eLearning if it is necessary. Our family is growing! Tri Jr. Sr. High School is actively seeking two qualified individuals to help make a difference in the lives of students. These two open Instructional Assistant positions (one 5 days/week and one 2 days/week) work directly with students individually or in small groups.
