The Indiana State School Music Association State competition was held at Perry Meridian High School on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Two Titans earned the right to participate and were awesome! -Elianna Horak received a first place gold medal. -Michaela Barron received a first place gold medal with distinction. Participants must be within 1 and 1/2 points of perfection to get the gold medal with distinction. Michaela's score was a half point from perfect! Congratulations to both Elianna and Michaela for representing us so well! Great things are happening at South Henry!

Titan Families... The 2024-2025 South Henry School Corporation Academic Calendar was approved at last night's Board meeting. A team of Titan teachers and administrators worked very hard to put together a great calendar for our students. Here are a few important items of note: -Spring Break will be one week and one day next year. We are hopeful that this schedule will allow for less learning loss prior to state testing and extend our valuable summer break for our students. -We have built in two snow make up days, if needed. Feedback received from Titan stakeholders has been that there is value in a traditional "snow day" for students. If we use these make-up days, we will communicate with families well in advance. -Like this school year, this calendar utilizes "waiver" days from the state based upon the fact that we have far more instructional minutes than are necessary in both buildings. These waiver days are still pending approval from the Indiana State Board of Education. If not approved, this will change the calendar slightly and we will communicate appropriately. Great things are happening at South Henry! Go Titans!

The amazing staff at South Henry had an incredible day of learning yesterday! We spent the morning learning together as a whole. In the afternoon, we sent groups of our people in many different directions, visiting other schools, collaborating with each other, and learning from community partners. One group had the opportunity to visit Draper, Inc., taking part in discussion about potential future partnerships, learning about how South Henry can better prepare our future leaders for the workforce, and discussing how Draper can support our work in the classroom. It was an incredible visit and we are thankful for our friends at Draper, Inc. for hosting us and for being such a rock in our community for decades. Great things are happening at South Henry!

Due to an accident on westbound I70 this morning, a large number of vehicles have diverted onto our district roads. This added traffic may cause bussing delays and will most likely make your morning commute longer than usual. Please use extreme caution and patience when traveling to school this morning. Thank you!

Fog Delay
South Henry Family, With last week's blast of winter weather and the threat of ice this evening, it's a great time to review our process for making decisions for school delays and cancellations. Please know, it is always our goal to have "in-person" classes. We understand the hardship on families when schedules change and we also believe that the classroom is one of the best places for a child to learn. With that said, the safety of our people is always our first priority. These decisions are not taken lightly and involve many moving parts including quickly changing conditions and forecasts, building conditions such as heat and electricity, ability for buses to start, air temperature and wind chill, estimated times of snow removal from roads, lots, and sidewalks, and more. Weighing all factors involved, these tough decisions are made using the process spelled out in this infographic. We appreciate your grace and understanding as we strive to protect our Titan students, staff, and family. THANK YOU!

School Delays and Cancellations
Good morning! The software company that we use for automated phone calls is experiencing delays in their call system today. As you know, we use many different methods of communication in the event of school delays and closures. It appears that text messaging, app notifications, and social media worked properly. Unfortunately, it appears that phone calls have not yet gone out to many of our Titan families. These calls are still showing "pending" and may come to you later this morning. We apologize for any confusion this may cause. Thank you.
