We hate to be the bearers of bad news and no, it is not yet April Fools Day. We have received notice that St. Rd. 103 in Lewisville will be closed from Market Street to Hwy 40 beginning on or after April 9th, 2024. Bus drivers will communicate with affected families about possible changes to pick-up locations and times. We thank you for the patience and grace that the Titan family has shown as we have worked through multiple road construction concerns that are outside of our control this year. Go Titans!

Tri Elementary School is holding Kindergarten Round-Up to determine the number of children who will be in our Kindergarten this coming fall. Elijah Wright competed in the Ball State PBS Regional Spelling Bee held at Sursa Performance Hall at Ball State University on Saturday, March 9th. Elijah finished in the top 10 spellers representing roughly 40 schools in Delaware, Blackford, Jay, Randolph, Madison, and Henry counties. He was honored by our School Board at their meeting on Tuesday.

Last night, the South Henry School Corporation Board of School Trustees formally named Mr. Todd Lunsford the Interim Principal at Tri Jr. Sr. High School. Mr. Lunsford has most recently served as the K-12 Assistant Principal of Teaching and Learning here at South Henry. A graduate of New Castle Community High School, Mr. Lunsford has previously served as a school administrator in the Liberty Perry School District and at Dayton Christian Middle School.
Mr. Lunsford will be the "point person" for 6-12 needs. He can be reached at tlunsford@shenry.k12.in.us.

TES wants to thank our middle school students for sharing their career projects with our elementary school students! Our students went on a "career cruise" where they were able to stop and ask questions to learn about future career paths. There were so many to read about! Way to go, Titans! This was an incredible experience!

Titan Families...
The 2024-2025 South Henry School Corporation Academic Calendar was approved at last night's Board meeting. A team of Titan teachers and administrators worked very hard to put together a great calendar for our students. Here are a few important items of note:
-Spring Break will be one week and one day next year. We are hopeful that this schedule will allow for less learning loss prior to state testing and extend our valuable summer break for our students.
-We have built in two snow make up days, if needed. Feedback received from Titan stakeholders has been that there is value in a traditional "snow day" for students. If we use these make-up days, we will communicate with families well in advance.
-Like this school year, this calendar utilizes "waiver" days from the state based upon the fact that we have far more instructional minutes than are necessary in both buildings. These waiver days are still pending approval from the Indiana State Board of Education. If not approved, this will change the calendar slightly and we will communicate appropriately.

On this Valentine's Day, kindness is spreading! It is national kindness week, and at TES, we are continuing to show this in many different ways. 💗
Mrs. Williams 5th grade class used their writing skills to write kindness notes to each other, and also wrote a letter to their future selves. Way to go, 5th grade! ✍️ 👏🏻
