We have been made aware of a water leak in the town of Lewisville that could potentially affect our water supply early next week. We have been informed that contractors plan to attempt to fix the leak on Monday, February 14th. At this time, contractors do not believe that the school's water supply will need to be shut down to do so. With that said, if water would need to be shut off, the South Henry School Corporation would not be able to have classes in person and would need to go virtual. Again, at this time, we plan to have school in person as normal. This message is intended to prepare families to have a contingency plan in place in case of a closure early next week. We thank you for your patience and understanding. We will communicate information as it is known. Go Titans!

Titan Families, We are aware of power outages affecting our community and our students. Please breathe easy knowing that this will not be held against your child. Students will be given plenty of time to complete their work once connectivity is restored. Relax, stay safe and warm, and look for communication from your child’s principal about how to complete work for the day. Enjoy the snow!

At the South Henry School Corporation, the safety of our students, families, and staff are of utmost importance. For this reason, we take severe weather very seriously. Making the call to delay or cancel school can be tricky and often times, it’s difficult to please everyone. Conditions can change by the minute and deadlines loom large. We hope this document outlining our steps might help the South Henry family better understand our decision-making process.

Recently, Tri Jr./Sr. High School has seen a rapid increase in illness among its student body. Many students have experienced flu-like symptoms including fever, cough, and fatigue. We have received confirmation that several of these students have tested positive for influenza, not COVID-19. Currently, the South Henry School Corporation has only one confirmed COVID-19 case among its population. At the recommendation of the Henry County Health Department, the Jr./Sr. High School building will close tomorrow, Friday, December 10th to be deep cleaned and sanitized. Jr./Sr. High School students will participate in an eLearning Day and should be prepared to attend class online via their devices. Per New Castle Area Career Center policy, Career Center students will also be virtual. Career Center students should contact their instructors for virtual work. Extracurricular activities will continue as previously scheduled. Tri Elementary School has seen far less illness and will be open as normal for in-person instruction. As a reminder, students should always be monitored for symptoms as noted by the CDC. If your child is in any way symptomatic, please keep them home from school and contact our school offices. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we take steps to keep the South Henry family safe and healthy. Mr. Duncan

We are incredibly proud to recognize these six amazing seniors who are part of the first American Sign Language National Honor Society in school history. One of only two active ASL Honor Society groups in Indiana, these students have worked tirelessly to earn this distinction. Also, thank you to Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Claar for helping to set South Henry apart and for providing such an amazing opportunity for our students.
